We are thrilled to once again host a collection of works by local, award-winning photographer Melvin A. Chappell. Most recently, Mr. Chappell won the Grand Prize at the Friends of the Wissahickon Photo Contest for 2008. He previously exhibited at Stapeley November 08-January 09. Mr. Chappell's work will be on display and open to the public through the first week in January 2010. (11/23/09)

New Photos Added to Stapeley Photo Albums Be sure to check out the photos recently added to our Spring 2009 album. These photos include our employee appreciation day, photos from a visit from a Japanese student, and some great photos from a visit from Briar Bush Nature Center.
Stapeley is delighted to welcome artist Barbara Ostrander as she exhibits her watercolor prints and paintings. Barbara is a professional artist and teacher in a variety of art media. She is a graduate of the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and has won many awards for her work. Four of her paintings were on display in City Hall during 2001 by the Philadelphia City Hall Art Advisory Council to celebrate the City Hall Centennial. One of Barbara’s paintings, “Summer in the City”, was selected for the New Jersey Cape Tourist poster for the year 2001. Her exhibit will be on display through September 1st. Stapeley
is thrilled to announce that we are currently exhibiting the works of
local photographer David Fonda and the paintings of his aunt Sybil
Fonda. David has worked as a photojournalist and started his own company
in 1983. The photos on display are from his personal collection,
including his trips to Haiti. His aunt, Sybil was a painter in the
1950's and was granted a Fulbright Scholarship in 1954 to study art in
Paris. Many of the paintings in this collection come from her time spent
painting in Paris. Their exhibit will be on display through the
beginning of November.
